Salons
What is a Salon?
Originating in the 17th and 18th centuries as an alternative to male-only universities, women’s salons transformed private living rooms into intellectual hubs for studying literature, philosophy, and science. Hosted by influential salonnières, these intimate gatherings provided women a self-directed space to bypass institutional gatekeeping, debate radical ideas, and shape public thought.

Lead Bold Salons are energizing, soul-filling gatherings for women in ministry who need a place to pause, connect, and be poured into. Every salon has its own flavor—different locations, topics, times of day, and vibes—so you can find the one that fits your rhythm and your season of ministry. Each salon is facilitated by a gifted woman leader who will guide us through a focused, meaningful conversation.
Our Salons are designed to hit the ground running, so engaging with our pre-session materials is a vital part of the experience. Before we meet, you’ll receive some curated material—such as an article to read or a podcast to listen to—as a way to spark your thinking. We know your time is valuable, so our goal is to keep this prep work to less than an hour. This pre-work will help you be ready to contribute to a robust, fruitful discussion.

Our Final Salon for 2026

Brunch with Christine Hung
Wednesday, November 4th, 10:30am-12:30pm, Sunol, CA
In this salon, we will be discussing the hidden toll of pastoral performance and how reclaiming our embodied safety allows for genuine connection.
Ministry demands an unshakeable front. But, when we learn to hide our actual, weary hearts behind a professional smile, we inadvertently cut ourselves off from the very vulnerability required for authentic belonging. Did you know that long before our analytical minds can process a conversation, our bodies have already made up their mind about whether we are safe enough to drop our guard. As pastors, how do we lead both ourselves and our church communities to rest, heal, and deeply belong in God's holy love.
